Image Quality Indicators
iqithumb.jpgImage quality indicators (IQIs) are special gauges used to determine or verify the capabilities of an x-ray inspection system.

IQIs are placed on a test specimen and examined.  Results are compared to known or previous values to show the current state of the system.

Various types are available to allow testing to American and European standards.

Step Wedge for Automated Image Quality Verification

Jacobsen's WHEELinspector™ uses a step wedge to automatically verify the image quality at a prescribed interval.  The step wedge is inserted into the system and imaged.  The image is then analyzed and compared to previous tests to verify that the system is still within specification.
