Jacobsen's portable inspection system is an x-ray system that's as mobile as you are. The system combines a small, rugged, cordless x-ray source with a small, light, high resolution detector, allowing x-ray inspection almost anywhere.
MAXIvision™ XR 5 Portable digital x-ray imaging system
The XR 5 is a digital X-ray camera system of high sensitivity and high resolution in small, light, and ruggedized construction. The image converter screen is a high resolution X-ray converter foil converting X-ray radiation to visible light. The X-ray image is guided via a mirror and a lens to the CCD of a camera. This CCD camera contains a digital image memory, which is pixel-synchronous to the CCD. The camera can be exposed longer than the TV standard (20ms). This way the weak image from the phosphor screen can be accumulated on the CCD and displayed as a high quality X-ray image on a monitor. Due to its intelligent sensor the camera „behaves“ like a film. As soon as there is X-ray radiation the camera starts to expose, stores the image automatically and displays it continuously. The stored image is available on the laptop (or other displays) for further processing or analyses.
Contrary to a classical X-ray image intensifier tube with a connected video camera this type of construction has only a slightly lower time resolution, but it is actually lighter, it needs no internal high voltage and it shows excellent performances with rugged applications.

Portable x-ray source XRS-3
Jacobsen's XRS3 Portable X-Ray Source
The XRS-3 is a light duty X-ray machine that requires little maintenance. The modular design makes component replacement easy and cost effective. The DeWalt® 14.4V battery and battery charger are commercially available in retail stores worldwide.
Lead shielding in the XRS-3 protects the user by minimizing radiation leakage outside of the X-ray beam while a time delay button and remote cable allow the operator to move a safe distance from the unit when it is in operation. Visual and audible indicators in the unit alert the operator when the XRS-3 is activated. Also, the XRS-3 contains no radioactive material. The unit produces radiation only when it is pulsing.
