Double Slit Diaphragm

Cutaway View of the Double-Slit Diaphragm
Diaphragms are used for two main reasons, namely to limit the primary x-ray beam on the tube side, and to limit unattenuated primary radiation from hitting the detector. Excess radiation hitting the detector results in overexposure on the detector. The diaphragm allows precise masking of the x-ray beam, helping to avoid overexposure.
The diaphragm is available in four configurations:
- 100x100mm opening, mounted on the x-ray source
- 200x200mm, 230x230mm and 240x240mm opening, mounted on the detector
Features
- Image quality improvement through adjustment of the beam cone
- Fits to MAXIvision™ II Image Intensifier Imaging Systems
- DC-motors for horizontal and vertical diaphragm slides
- Exact positioning of the diaphragm slides using PC-based control (optional)
- Pushbutton or joystick control of sliders
- Pre-filters are mounted directly into slide-in device
- For voltages of up to 450 kV (slides made from tungsten)
